About David Loi
I have spent the last 15 years behind a lens, a journey that began as a simple hobby and evolved into a lifelong obsession with the craft. Over time, that spark grew into a deep-seated mission to capture stories. I spent a decade and a half honing the nuances of lighting and the psychology of directing, operating under the belief that "practice makes perfect" is the only way to master the technical demands of a high-stakes set.
My work is driven by a love for the untold stories of the people behind the machine. I’ve always felt that an incredible machine is merely a reflection of the incredible people who built and operate it. I’m constantly searching for those quiet, human moments of grit and ingenuity that tell the world why these machines matter in the first place.
Outside of photography, I live the life I photograph. When I’m cycling, I find the endurance and rhythmic patience needed for long production days. Racing cars gives me a visceral, high-speed understanding of motion and mechanical precision that I translate directly into my automotive work. Camping resets my creative eye, teaching me to find beauty in minimalist, natural light. Even the simple act of watching airliners at Love Field keeps me grounded in a sense of wonder for scale and engineering.
Otherwise, I’m with my family, enjoying the balance of being a normal person.
I am also proud to be represented by Wonderful Machine.
